Learn by changing one thing

Make maths visible

Short investigations in mathematical art, geometry and 3D making. Start with a prediction, build a model and explain what changed.

These guides use MathMe’s shapes, patterns, measurements and export tools. You can read every guide without signing in. The studio’s plan limits apply when you save online, convert drawings or export files.

Angles & functions

Spirals, helixes and sunflowers

Work out how radius, angle and height place each object. Compare three patterns that share the same coordinate rule.

Construction & measurement

From 2D geometry to 3D

Use points, lines, circles and constraints. Test lengths and areas, then explore what an extrusion adds.

Files & physical models

Choose a 3D export format

Understand STL, GLB and OBJ, check scale and distinguish a visual model from a closed printable solid.

Teaching & reflection

Classroom maths projects

Build a lesson around symmetry, volume or waves, with evidence students can describe and compare.

A simple investigation routine

  1. Predict. Write down what you expect before changing a number.
  2. Build. Start with a small model so individual objects are easy to inspect.
  3. Compare. Change one setting and keep the others fixed.
  4. Explain. Connect what you see to a formula, diagram or measurement.

A striking picture is a useful starting point. A good explanation also identifies the units, assumptions and settings that produced it. Save the project settings so another learner can reproduce your result.
